Football Is Back! So Who Is Going To Win The Super Bowl?

Who is going to win the Super Bowl? The question that is asked at the beginning of every NFL football season. Everyone has an opinion and perhaps the 2nd week of the season isn’t exactly the best time to pick who will win the Super Bowl but its always a fun thing to do. And of course…..my pick is right.

I’ll start in the AFC first. After watching 1 week of regular season football, I am confident to say that here is how the top 6 will finish in the AFC.

1. Baltimore, 2. New England, 3. Denver, 4. Houston, 5. San Diego, 6. Pittsburgh. Business as usual huh. Here is how the Wild Card will go. In a rematch, Denver beats the Steelers in Denver & Houston beats San Diego. Next is the Divisional Playoff. And look what we have….Manning vs Brady 10 (or at least it seems like this will be the 10th time these 2 QB’s would have met in the Playoffs). In this edition of the rivalry, Manning goes into New England with his new team and his new defense and beats Brady and the Pats. The next game is Houston at Baltimore. Baltimore in a blowout. Houston is just happy to be there. Finally, we have the AFC Championship Game. Denver at Baltimore. Baltimore does not let last year repeat itself and on this year, they get the job done. Baltimore wins and represents the AFC.

Now comes the hard part….the NFC. The Saints, Giants, and Packers all lost in week 1. But here is how they will finish.

1. San Francisco, 2. New Orleans, 3. Dallas, 4. Green Bay, 5. NY Giants, 6. Atlanta. Where is Detroit you ask? Their division is just simply too tough for them to get out of there alive. Now the Wild Card…Dallas blows out Atlanta & Green Bay defeats the Giants in OT. The Divisional Round will end with Dallas going to New Orleans only to see Romo have his usual playoff bad game. Saints over Dallas. Green Bay is on a mission after getting revenge on the Giants. They travel to the Bay area and take care of business against the 49ers. NFC Championship Game: Green Bay vs New Orleans. I have to go with Green Bay here. Home field advantage this time does not help New Orleans and Rogers leads the Packers back to the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl: Baltimore vs Green Bay

Baltimore’s defense steps up its game and holds Rogers at bay while Joe Flacco gets the monkey off his back. Baltimroe Ravens are the Super Bowl Champions. Ray Lewis retires. haha

In honor of the Niners vs. Giants game this Sunday…

The showdown between the San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Giants at Candlestick Park is just a few days away. What better way to get a Niner fan in the mood than with Bay Rapper, Ashkon’s track, “Niners in Paris”. Inspired by Jay-Z & Kanye West’s track, “Night in Paris”, this song is quite catchy and will definitely hype up any Niner fan you know. The first time I gave it a listen, I literally LOL’ed when Ashkon replaced, “That Sh*t Cray” with “That Smith Cray”.

According to NFL.com Blogs, Ashkon made a track when the beloved San Francisco baseball team, San Francisco Giants, were in the Playoffs who then went on to win the 2010 World Series.

Maybe Ashkon blessing us with this track has good Karma for the Niners to eventually go on to the Superbowl and be the 2012 champs. Stay tuned.

Jim Caldwell Fired by Colts?!?!?

Despite conflicting reports that Indianapolis Colts Head coach, Jim Caldwell would be retained for another season after going a disastrous 2-14 this past season. Speculations of the Colts organization cleaning house has now been confirmed with the firing of Caldwell.

Yes, losing franchise Quarterback, Peyton Manning, was a significant loss. But the team had no back up plan at quarterback and attempts at finding a backup were unsuccessful with the signing of former retired quarterback, Kerry Collins.

Colts owner Jim Irsay announced the beginning of a rebuilding process during the firing of former general manager Bill Polian.

Granted Jim Caldwell went 22-26 as a NFL head coach. The colts have yet to address their suspect defensive needs since their 2007 XLI Superbowl win with Tony Dungy’s “Tampa 2” defense.

Supposedly, former Tennessee Titan’s and current St. Louis Rams head coach, Jeff Fisher, was waiting around to see if he would have an opportunity to interview.

The colts are now in an attractive position with the number pick in the 2012 NFL draft. This pick will evidently be used to draft Stanford University Quarterback, Andrew Luck.

Robert Griffin III is going Pro!

Former Baylor Quarterback, Robert Griffin III, is entering the 2012 NFL Draft. This comes as no surprise after his Alamo Bowl performance against the University of Washington.

The 2012 Heisman trophy winner is projected to be a Top 5 pick according to NFL draft gurus and scouting services.

Oakland Raiders Fire Head Coach Hue Jackson after 1 season?

The Oakland Raiders made their first major move of the offseason by firing first year Head coach Hue Jackson.

The decision to get rid of Jackson after an 8-8 season with a disappointing last home game lost to the struggling San Diego Chargers for a potential playoff berth cemented his fate to coach next season. The biggest problem this season for raiders was the defensive side of the ball and leading the NFL in penalties. He was the team’s offensive coordinator last season under Tom Cable. But the offense never bounced back after injuries to RB Darren McFadden and QB Jason Campbell.

The Raiders also announced early tuesday their new General Manager, Reggie McKenzie. McKenzie is the former Green Bay Packers Director of football operations. He was also drafted by the Los Angeles Raiders in the 10th round of the 1985 draft as a linebacker out the University of Tennessee.

McKenzie will now have the opportunity to make a complete overhaul of football staff and change the organization’s culture, which hasn’t seen much change since Al Davis took over. Many suspect that he will bring in a lot of personnel from the Packers.

Some potential candidates for the coaching vacancy are the Parkers secondary coach, Darren Perry and Tom Clements, the Parker’s quarterbacks coach.
